Brief in English on EKYL
Espoon Kaupunginosayhdistysten Liitto ry, shortened as EKYL, is an umbrella organization for resident- and local history associations in Espoo. At the moment, EKYL has 43 member associations. Most member associations operate in Finnish or are bilingual with Finnish and Swedish as the languages used. One, Esbo Hembygdsförening, operates mainly in Swedish.
The purpose of EKYL is to function as a liaison and support organization for member associations and to further their possibilities to influence local decision-making. The organization also strives to promote local knowledge.
The office of EKYL is located in Parkvilla, Parkvillanpolku 4, 02600 Espoo. The organization secretary will be happy to answer questions about the organization.
